Hop right on (it's free)!

Social media is a huge part of not only American culture, but also worldwide. With the multiple platforms available to us, there are so many options for how we may choose to utilize social media. Some people may use it to keep up with family and friends; the platform of choice here may be Facebook. Facebook is not the only website one can use to interact with those whom they care about, thought. Microblogging (letting your thoughts out while restricted to a certain number of characters) site Twitter is also a fine way to talk to people you know.

"Okay," you may think, "but what else is it good for? I could just talk to my family on the phone, you know". "That's true," is what I may say to you, pushing my glasses up the bridge of my nose so you can tell that I mean business, "but casual conversation only scratches the surface of what one can do via social media".

For instance, companies use social media sites such as Twitter to reach out to both consumers and possible consumers. By having an online presence, companies make themselves more accessible and more marketable. To get your brand out there among the public, you have to immerse yourself in the public.

The purpose of this blog is to provide guidance to those of you who maybe aren't the most tech or internet-savvy in the world. I'm going to grab my metaphorical horses (work with me here), and do my best to get you on the path to becoming an informed internet-user!
